Itineraries:  Have Your Students create Alternate Pathways Through this Site’s 5 Chapters

The Folders below are meant to present your students with different pathways through items in this book. That is, rather than reading the Chapters in sequence, perhaps one might prefer to follow particular threads. And so, for instance, some pathways will begin with a Glossary entry; then take a student to a video lecture; then allow him or her to read a selected section of a Chapter rather than the entire text.  At the end, you may also find links to particular examples of narrative journalism that are germane to a particular pathway.

Your students can construct similar pathways, as well. You might, for instance, ask them to construct “three steps” based on the logic here–and they might be invited, as well, to use internet resources or YouTube videos that they have found on their own.  The structure, as you’ll see, is generally:  Glossary  to   Chapter Discussion   to Video.
